ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule: A representative from the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) recently said that having two World Cup games in a row is hard to plan and keep safe. The official said he hoped there would be a day between games, which shows how important a break is. This request shows that the ODI World Cup plan, which is currently set to start on October 5, could be changed again.
After the schedule wasn’t released on time in June, the BCCI and ICC moved nine games, including the big India vs. Pakistan game, to earlier this month. The match between India and Pakistan was supposed to happen on October 16 in Ahmedabad, but it was moved up to October 15. So, the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad, which was supposed to happen on October 12, was moved to October 10. On October 9, the match between New Zealand and the Netherlands will take place in Hyderabad.
Will ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule Change Again?
A Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) official said on Sunday that hosting two World Cup games in as many days is not ideal from both an organizational and a security point of view. However, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said that any more changes to the plan are “unlikely.”
After a very late schedule update in June, the BCCI and ICC moved as many as nine games, including the most important one between India and Pakistan, to different dates earlier this month. The match between India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad was moved up by one day, so the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad was moved from October 12 to October 10. On October 9, New Zealand plays the Netherlands at the HCA.
Now that the Hyderabad police have said they don’t want to provide protection for back-to-back games, the HCA wanted to change the schedule again. They wanted at least a day to pass between the two games. “I can’t say for sure that it would be changed, but having games right after each other is not ideal. I mean, if the BCCI is thinking about it again, that’s good. We’ll have to work with people in charge of security.
“Anyone would want a day between two World Cup games. We are still talking with security officials to find out if it is possible or not. At the same time, we keep BCCI in the loop as well. “The BCCI knows exactly what we are trying to do,” said an HCA source who asked not to be named.
But Shukla said in a formal statement that there probably won’t be any more changes because it needs the help of many different people.
“I am in charge of the World Cup spot in Hyderabad. If there is a problem or something else, we will try to solve it. The World Cup plan is hard to change, and it’s not likely to happen. “Only BCCI can’t change the schedule, and neither can the teams nor the ICC,” said Shukla, who is also a member of the Rajya Sabha for the Congress party. The Hyderabad Police sends between 2000 and 2500 people to a foreign game.

ICC World Cup 2023 Security Concerns
The Hyderabad police are worried about providing protection for back-to-back games, which could mean that there will be more changes. The anonymous source said that it would be best if there was a day between two World Cup games. The HCA is talking to security agents right now to see if this request is possible. They are also keeping the BCCI updated on the situation.
The Hyderabad Police usually send between 2000 and 2500 people to foreign games. The number of people sent depends on the type of game and how many people are expected to attend. Since Pakistan will be playing in one of these games, security is likely to be tighter.
Pakistan will play in India for the first time since the 2016 T20 World Cup. They will spend a long time in Hyderabad, where they will play two warm-up games and then two tournament games. Their first game is set for October 6 against the Netherlands. Tickets for the ODI World Cup will go on sale on August 25. This doesn’t give cricket fans much time to make trip plans.
