Why Did Elle Leave Criminal Minds? Elle Greenaway was an important part of the BAU in the first season of ‘Criminal Minds.’ Then, at the start of Season 2, she left the show. If you like police procedurals, you will probably like Criminal Minds. We don’t decide what the rules are. That’s just how things are. Somehow, the people who made the show were able to find the perfect cast, write the perfect (or perfectly imperfect) characters, and tell stories that kept the show’s many fans coming back for more season after season.
If you’ve been watching the show from the beginning, you know that Elle Greenaway, played by Lola Glaudini, was one of the best characters. She was the first senior special agent with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. You probably also know that Elle didn’t stay around for very long. After 28 episodes, her character left the show.
Why Did Elle Leave Criminal Minds?
Elle helped the BAU catch a criminal, and she even shot Tim Vogel, a civilian. Later, she became a Supervisory Special Agent and joined the BAU team. At the end of season one, an unsub broke into her house and shot her. He also used her blood to write ‘RULES’ on the wall. She got medical help right away, and she lived. Even though she physically lived, she was hurt on the inside. She went back to the BAU.
In the case of a serial rapist, she was hard on the subject and went to his house and killed him. She said it was an act of self-defense afterward. After these things happened, she gave up her job. Even though she left the show, her coworkers talked about her more than once.

What Happened to Elle in Criminal Minds?
From the very first episode, Elle Greenaway was a regular on the show. Elle helped the BAU catch a possible suspect in the first episode. She also killed the first unsub on the show, Tim Vogel, also known as the Seattle Strangler. (He did try to kill Gideon first, though.) Elle joined the BAU after that case, which was a great move for the team. Things did not stay good for very long, though.
In the last episode of Season 1, an unknown person broke into Elle’s house and shot her. Elle was found by paramedics, who were able to bring her back to life, but she was left with psychological scars. Elle went back to work in the first episode of Season 2, but her BAU coworkers weren’t sure she was ready.
By the fifth episode of Season 2, Elle’s life had started to go downhill. She let her feelings get the best of her and talked to an unsub too soon, which led to him being let off. She then went to his room and killed him with a gun. In the next episode, Elle quit the FBI for good, so she was no longer on the show.

The Audience’s Reaction of Glaudini’s Character
Since many “Criminal Minds” fans were said to dislike Greenaway, it may have been best for Glaudini to leave the show and decide Los Angeles wasn’t for her. Many people say that Greenaway’s character growth wasn’t finished or believable, and most people who saw the movie seemed to agree. Some people also said that she didn’t play the victim well enough, which made the audience dislike the character even more.
