Megyn Kelly’s Reason for Leaving Fox News
In September 2017, when she was on The Ellen Show, Megyn Kelly said why she was leaving Fox News.
The well-known TV figure said that she quit the popular cable news show because of Donald Trump and because primetime news is a “snake pit.”
Kelly went into more detail about how she had never been interested in politics before she joined the network’s primetime slot. She also said that the former U.S. president has a way of making one’s life decisions clear.
The woman from Illinois said that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be on at night. “Universe came and shone a light,” the host said. “It became clear to me what I wanted to do.”
The former Fox News employee also said that when she got to the network’s evening, Bill O’Reilly told her it was a snake pit. “That’s how I felt, and I did not want to be in the snake pit; all I wanted to do was report the news,” the host said.
Kelly said that Donald Trump’s controversial tweet about her was just proof that she didn’t want to work in the toxic atmosphere of cable news.
Kelly is an author as well as a TV personality. HarperCollins paid her more than $10 million in February 2016 to write a book. Her book, Settle for More, came out on November 15, 2016.
