Five people stabbed to death a 19-year-old Delhi University student in broad daylight outside a college the day before. Two of those people have been caught in connection with the case.
The victim, Nikhil Chauhan, was killed outside of Aryabhatta College in South Campus on Sunday. It is thought that he was killed because he told another student to stop bothering his female friend. He was in his first year as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science at the School of Open Learning.
What Happened to DU Student Nikhil?
Nikhil lived in Paschim Vihar and went to the School of Open Learning to get his BA (Hons) in Political Science. Rahul and Yash got into a fight with Nikhil a week ago, and Rahul and Yash came back for payback on Sunday, according to the cops.
The father of 19-year-old Delhi University student Nikhil Chauhan, who was reportedly stabbed to death by four people outside Aryabhatta College in South Campus on Sunday, broke down while talking to the media on Monday. The father of the victim said that the Delhi Police had not told the family about the death of his son yet.
Sanjay, Nikhil’s father, told the news service ANI, “So far, the police haven’t told us anything. We haven’t talked to the police until now. Yesterday at noon, the students who took my son to the hospital called me. These kids were kept here (at the police station) all night by the police.”
Nikhil lived in Paschim Vihar and was going to the School of Open Learning to get his BA (Hons) in Political Science. Nikhil’s father told the media earlier today that the cops had called the family on Monday morning but did not let them in. “We’ve been standing here since 7:45 a.m., but no one has come out to call us in or talk to us,” he said.
Father Told That Nikhil Planned to Go to Mumbai
Nikhil’s father, Sanjay Chauhan, said, “NIkhil got a call from Mumbai to do modeling a while back, but at the time, he had a test, so I told him to go to the exam first. The exam for Nikhil’s first semester was over, and he had already started the second term. I was getting ready to send him to Mumbai soon, but everything has gone wrong.”
Chauhan didn’t know the charged person or that Nikhil got into a fight with anyone from college. He also said, “I don’t know the accused. The police said they had caught one of the accused.” Between 10 and 15 boys had come to kill Nikhil. Some of them came on bikes, and others took the metro. He was cut near the heart, and the bleeding killed him on the spot.
Nikhil’s mother, Sonia Chauhan, said that her son liked to act and model. She also said, “Two of his songs were posted on YouTube, and he was going to act in more songs.”
Delhi Police Investigation on the Case
The police said that the suspects have been found and that CCTV cameras at and around the crime scene are being looked at to figure out what happened. Teams have been put together to catch the suspects. Rahul and Yash got into a fight with Nikhil a week ago, and Rahul and Yash came back for payback on Sunday, according to the cops.
DCP South West of Delhi “When the police got there, they found that the victim was Nikhil Chauhan, a first-year student at the School of Open Learning,” Manoj C told ANI. When they looked into it more, they found out that Chauhan had a fight with Rahul and Yash a week ago. Rahul, Yash, and a few other people came here yesterday to get even. Nikhil Chauhan was stabbed. Rahul and Haroon, who worked with Rahul, are the two guys we have arrested. We have also found some others. We will also put them in jail.”
He also said, “One of the college students mistreated his girlfriend about a week ago. On Sunday at 12:30 p.m., the main suspect, who went to the same college as Nikhil, met him outside the school gate with three other people and stabbed him.
Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) Notice
On Monday, the event was brought to the attention of the Delhi Police by the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW).
Swati Maliwal, who is in charge of the Delhi Commission for Women, said, “The Delhi Commission for Women is giving warning to the Delhi Police. This is not the first time something like this has happened. There are crimes going on in the middle of the day. No one is safe in Delhi. The Delhi Police answer to the Central government, which needs to wake up.”
