KKR vs RR XI tip-off: Trent Boult returns, Joe Root to play

In the 56th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Eden Gardens on Thursday, May 11.

Rajasthan Royals are currently ranked fifth in the standings with a record of five wins and six losses through their first eleven games.

The Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, are sixth in the standings with a record of five wins and six losses through their first eleven games.

RR may lead in net run rate (NRR), but if KKR keeps winning, the situation could swiftly alter because a win for either team puts them in the top four.

Total of 27 games have been played between the two teams so far, with KKR dominating the Knight Riders with 14 victories to their name while RR has 12 wins to their name.

Trent Boult, a New Zealand bowler, was unable to play in RR's most recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad because of an injury. However, for tonight's match against the seasoned Knight Riders at home, the Kiwi bowler is expected to make a comeback.

The visiting team's star English batter, who made his IPL debut in the previous match, was not given the opportunity to bat. As the Royals look to bolster their batting lineup for the contest against the Knight Riders, Root may get another chance to enter the fray.

RR will seek Adam Zampa's services to bolster their bowling lineup, but in order to recruit another foreign player, they will need to decide whether to include Jason Holder.
