As part of its planned projects, OTT giant Netflix has unveiled many new shows as well as updates on the next seasons of its hit shows in its fan-fest TUDUM. Among other things, the streaming service revealed the third season of its critically acclaimed fantasy drama series The Witcher.

About Witcher Season 3
The 8-part series, adapted from the same-named book series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkotawski, premiered in December 2019. Following that, another eight-episode season was published in December 2021.
In addition, an animated origin story film titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was published in August 2021, and a prequel miniseries titled The Witcher: Blood Origin is slated to premiere on December 25, 2022.
The planned sequel will be followed by several minor adventures of Geralt, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Princess Ciri. According to sources, the third season is inspired by the Witcher novel series, ‘Time of Content’ by Andrzej Sapkowski. The show will concentrate on Princess Ciri, who has been targeted by several continents in prior seasons for becoming absolutely powerful and stronger.

The Witcher Season 3 OTT Release Date
Season 3 of The Witcher was available on Netflix on June 29th. Volume 1 was released on June 29th, followed by Volume 2 on July 27th. The Witcher Season 3 have a total of eight episodes.

However, Henry Cavill’s character Geralt will be played by Chris Hemsworth for the final season. According to the official summary, “as monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it.”
Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer guides them to the fortress of Aretuza, where she intends to learn more about the girl’s latent powers; instead, they find themselves in a battleground of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal. They must fight back, putting everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”
