What Will Happen in The Sandman Season 2?
The original comic run of The Sandman took place over 10 volumes. Two of those volumes, Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll’s House, were turned into episodes of Season 1. So, most viewers think that Season 2 will cover Neil Gaiman’s third and fourth volumes of stories, which are Dream Country (issues 17–20) and Season of Mists (issues 21–28).
Even though the first two issues of Dream Country were adapted in Season 1’s bonus episode (“Dream of a Thousand Cats/Calliope”), they should be skipped and maybe the fifth volume, “A Game of You,” should be read instead.
So, Season 2 could include a meeting with famous playwright William Shakespeare as he performs his play A Midsummer Night’s Dream for a crowd of strange creatures, including the characters from the story. Fans could even see the shape-shifting DC Comics character Element Girl in a story where she struggles with being immortal. However, this was one of the few stories in The Sandman that didn’t include Morpheus, so it’s possible that it will be skipped.
Going into Season of Mists, Season 2 could see Morpheus put in charge of hell and left to find its new ruler. Many gods from Norse, Egyptian, and Japanese mythologies, among others, could be interested in the job.

Dream will be played by Tom Sturridge, and Lucifer will be played by Gwendoline Christie. Desire will be played by Mason Alexander Park again, and Matthew the Raven will be voiced by Patton Oswalt, just like before.
