Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 3: Fans are eager to hear when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 will come out since the show has already been picked up for a third season. Strange New Worlds takes place ten years before Star Trek: The Original Series and is about Christopher Pike’s experiences in space and time. With a strong 8.3 rating on IMDb and a 97% fresh review score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s easy to see why so many fans of this series want it to keep going.
Is Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 3 Renewed?
Strange New Worlds, a popular science fiction show, has been officially picked up for a third season by Paramount+. In the show, Science Officer Spock and Captain Christopher Pike bravely explore space to find new worlds. This story takes place right there before Captain Kirk became the captain of the USS Enterprise.
But because of the WGA strike, the timeline for making Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has changed. Sadly, the shooting for the third season, which was supposed to start in May, has been canceled. At the moment, there has been no news about a new start date, which has fans worried. The fact that the studio hasn’t given a clear update or official comment makes things even more uncertain.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Release Date
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds doesn’t have a definite release date yet, and it probably won’t for a while. The current strike by the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America has put a stop to many US-based TV shows, including Strange New Worlds.
Given how slowly the disagreement is being resolved and how long it takes to make a cool Star Trek show, we probably won’t see season 3 until late 2024 or early 2025. On the bright side, we know it will happen eventually because Paramount enthusiastically renewed the show in advance in March 2023, before the second season had even started.
Where to Watch Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 3?
Strange New Worlds will only be available on Paramount Plus when the third season comes out. Most of the other Star Trek material, like the movies from TOS and TNG, is on the streaming service.

What Will Be The Plot of Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 3?
As season 2 of Strange New Worlds finished on a cliffhanger, season 3 will pick up right where it left off. Captain Pike will have to decide whether to leave La’an and M’Benga to the Gorn or go against orders to save them, putting the Enterprise crew in danger. It’s a big moment for the character, and it reminds me of the end of The Best of Both Worlds when Riker just decided to destroy the Borg Cube with Captain Picard on board.
But based on what we know about Captain Pike (and we know a lot about Star Trek captains, so you can believe us), we think he’ll take the brave, heroic risk. He won’t be able to leave his crew, no matter how bad that might be. From here, season 3 could be about a larger border war between the Federation and the Gorn, which leads to the events of the famous TOS episode Arena.
Aside from this, we’d expect to see Kirk and Spock’s friendship grow as Kirk finds more reasons to join the Enterprise. And to stay with Spock, the half-Vulcan will have to get used to losing Nurse Chapel when their causal relationship ends and she leaves to help Korby with his study. As long as Strange New Worlds keeps going in this way, there will also be plenty of experiences that happen in small chunks.

The Cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 doesn’t have a cast list yet, but it’s possible that Anson Mount and Rebecca Romijn will return as Christopher Pike and Una Chin-Riley/Number One, respectively. We can also expect to see more of Jess Bush as nurse Christine Chapel and Christina Chong as head of security La’an Noonien-Singh. Ethan Peck and Celia Rose Gooding, who play franchise icons Spock and Uhura, will also be back.
Melissa Navia plays the ship’s captain, Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun plays the doctor, Joseph M’Benga, in the lead cast of Strange New Worlds. In season 2, Carol Kane and Paul Wesley were two of the most important recurring characters. Carol Kane replaced Bruce Horak’s Hemmer as chief engineer, and Paul Wesley played James T. Kirk, the part that William Shatner created.
