The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) runs the SSC CGL Exam to fill Grade “B” and “C” positions in government ministries, departments, and offices. The SSC CGL test is given in two parts, or “Tiers.”
The entire process of registration and communication happens online through the official website of SSC. Before being chosen, candidates must pass each stage of the SSC CGL exam to move on to the next one. The SSC CGL 2023 Tier 1 Exam will take place between July 14 and July 27, 2023. How to Apply for the SSC CGL 2023?
To apply for the SSC CGL 2023, candidates can follow these steps:
- Go to the commission’s website at ssc.nic.in.
- Click on “Register Now” in the “Login” section.
- Sign up with basic details, additional and contact details and declaration
- Use your registration number and password to log in to the online system.
- Click the “Apply” link under the “Test Notifications” tab in the “Combined Graduate Level Examination 2023” section.
- Provide your details
- Upload a recent picture of yourself and your signature
- Carefully read the declaration and click the “I agree” box if you agree with it. Type the Captcha code in.
- Look over the information you’ve given and make sure it’s correct. If you want to change any of the entries, click the “Edit/Modify” button and make the necessary changes before going on.
The Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL 2023
Educational Qualification
Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institute.
Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the degree level subjects.
Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institute in any field, with Statistics as one of the subjects. Statistics must have been a subject for all three years or all six semesters of the graduation course.
Research Assistant at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) – Graduation
For all other jobs, you need a bachelor’s degree from a well-known university or something similar.
Age Limit
The government has put limits on who can apply to find a good candidate. For example, a candidate can only apply for SSC CGL if they are in a certain age group set by the commission.
The youngest person who can be hired is 20 years old, and the oldest person who can be hired depends on the job. For some jobs, the maximum age limit is 27, and for others, it is 30.
The central government also gives candidates from different groups some leeway when it comes to the maximum age limit. In the table below, an applicant can see the different age groups that the central government has set for different jobs.
SSC CGL 2023 Selection Process(Revised)
According to the SSC CGL Notification 2023, the SSC CGL 2023 Exam will have two levels. The SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination will be a computer-based test that will be taken online. This will be a qualifying exam, and the scores won’t count toward the final score. However, only candidates who pass the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be able to take the SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam.
There will be three parts to the SSC CGL Tier 2: Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III.
Paper 1 is required for all posts, which is a very important thing to remember.
Those who take Paper II will be chosen to be Junior Statistical Officers in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
Paper III is for people who want to be Assistant Account Officers or Assistant Audit Officers.
Candidates need to know that those who pass the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will move on to Tier 2.
