Yoga practitioners everywhere must commemorate Paramhansa Yogananda on June 21, as the world observes International Yoga Day for the second consecutive year. He was the person who did the most to spread ancient science beyond India’s borders.
The primary credit for the UN’s decision to recognize June 21 as International Yoga Day must go to Yogananda, who arrived in the US in 1920 and spent more than three decades instructing thousands of Americans in yoga and meditation at a time when the word “yoga” was unfamiliar.

The Los Angeles Times referred to Yogananda as “the 20th century’s first superstar guru” since he was the first significant Indian teacher to immigrate to the United States and the first notable Indian to be invited to the White House (by President Calvin Coolidge in 1927).
After arriving in Boston in 1920, he began a lucrative cross-country speaking tour before settling in Los Angeles in 1925. Conclusion
He propagated the idea that the cosmos is God’s cosmic movie and that people are only extras in the divine drama who undergo rebirth, echoing traditional Hindu teachings. He asserted that excessive identification with one’s current role—rather than the movie’s director or God—is the basis of mankind’s profound misery.
In order to assist others in achieving this awareness, which he dubbed “Self-realization,” he taught Kriya Yoga and other meditation techniques. If you want to know that technique of mediation even anything then comment in the box below at http://tmcassam.org
