Nicki Minaj may soon have to move out of her house. the pop star’s neighbours in Hidden Hills, Los Angeles, are trying to get her and her husband out of the neighbourhood because her husband Kenneth Petty is a sexual abuser,
The people who live in the area have also started a plea to get the couple out of their home. Minaj and Petty paid a huge $19.5 million for the house in December of last year. Read on to learn more about what’s going on.
Nicki Minaj’s Hidden Hills Neighbours Want Her to Leave Her Home
The whole mess started when Petty, who had been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, changed his address on Megan’s Law, a database of sex offenders. The 45-year-old man had been listed as a sexual offender in New York, and he did a year of home detention in California for not registering.
The news got the attention of the people who live in the area, and they began to fight against the move, saying that his presence will lower the value of the real estate in the area. The neighbours also said that Petty might have done something bad before and could be a danger to them.

Residents of Hidden Hills Start a Petition to Get Rid of Minaj and Petty
A local named Beverly Bardan has also started a Change.org petition to get Minaj and Petty to leave their home. So far, more than 500 people have signed the petition, which is called “Say No to Sex Offenders in Hidden Hills.”
“Kenneth Petty is a level 3 sexual offender who tried to rape a 16-year-old girl. He is very likely to do it again.” He was also convicted of killing another person. He is currently under house arrest because he did not register as a sexual offender in California as the law requires,” says the plea.
“If the Pettys moved in, it would lower the value of our homes because it would make us feel less safe. It would make women and children targets. We, the people who live in Hidden Hills, must put the safety of our neighbours first.”
“Don’t wait until the government sends you a letter telling you that a criminal has moved in near you. DO NOT let this risky sexual offender live near you, and SHOW that you are against sex offenders in our Hidden Hills neighbourhood!” it says.

In 1995, Petty Was Found Guilty of Rape
Petty is a sexual criminal because he tried to rape a 16-year-old girl in 1995 and was found guilty of first-degree attempted rape. He was also 16 at the time, and he went to jail for four years. After the reaction, Minaj talked about her husband’s conviction and said, “He was 15, she was 16, and they were together. But go away, Internet, you can’t run my life.”
He was arrested again in 2020 for not registering as a sex offender when he moved to California after getting married to Minaj. At the time, the judge gave him three years of probation, one year of home detention, and a $55,000 fine. He is getting close to the end of his time at home.
