What is the Plot of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3?
In the third My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie, the whole Portokalos family will go to a Greek town for a family reunion, which was the late patriarch Gus Portokalos’s last wish. So far, there has been a wedding in every movie. In the first movie, Toula married her non-Greek boyfriend Ian. In the second movie, Toula’s mother and father, Maria and Gus, get married after finding out that the man who married them wasn’t a real priest. No one knows for sure if there will be a wedding in this sequel, but it seems very possible.
2016 was the last time we saw the Portokalos family. Toula and Ian’s lives were thrown into a bit of a free fall by the expected return. Due to the slump, Toula was back where she started, working at her family’s restaurant. Ian was now the head of the high school, so the two of them had less and less time to spend together.
At the same time, their teen daughter Paris was making threats to go to college far away. The wedding of Gus and Maria caused even more chaos in the family because a health scare and marriage problems made it look like the whole thing would have to be called off. But in the end, they were able to get married again, and the movie finished with Paris’s whole family taking her to New York to start college.
