Miss Universe Australia finalist Sienna Weir dies at 23: According to information provided by her management company, Sienna Weir, a contestant for Miss Universe Australia, passed away at the age of 23. On May 4, the organization paid homage to the model by posting a video on Instagram that included photographs of her and said, “Forever in our hearts.”
According to News.com.au, Sienna was taken off life support and pronounced dead after an accident involving horseback riding. Sienna was riding at the Windsor Polo Grounds in Sydney on April 2 when her horse reportedly collapsed, as reported by an Australian publication. She was taken to Westmead Hospital, where she remained on life support for many weeks until she ultimately passed away.
The former Miss Gold Coast told Gold Coast Magazine that she had a “deep and unmoving love for show jumping.” The beauty queen has a double degree in English literature and psychology from Sydney University.
She mentioned in September that “my family aren’t quite sure where this passion came from,” but that she had been riding horses since she was three years old and that she could not envision her life without the activity. “I travel to rural Sydney two to three times a week to train, and I compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend.”Following the news of her passing, Australian photographer Chris Dwyer, who had previously collaborated with Sienna on many occasions, rushed to social media to pay respect to the deceased competitor. Alongside a picture of Sienna, he added the following caption on his Instagram Stories: “You were one of the kindest souls in the world, you lit up the room, and the world is a lot darker now that you are gone.” “Hope that wherever you are, you’re still being the lovable gremlin that we all know and know. We are already missing you so much.”
