About JEE Advanced 2023
JEE Advanced is the only test that lets students into IIT’s college programs that lead to a bachelor’s degree, an integrated master’s degree, or a dual bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering, science, or architecture. Joint Entrance Examination—Advanced is a national test. It is the second level that hopefuls must pass to become IIT alumni, after JEE Main. About 2.5 lahks of the best students for JEE Main are allowed to take this entrance test each year. Under the direction of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), the test is given by any of the seven IITs (IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee) or the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) uses a common process to give places in IITs to people who passed JEE Advanced based on their course preferences and JEE Advanced ranks. IITs offer BTech, BS, BArch, BTech and MTech dual degrees, BS and MS dual degrees, Integrated MTech, and Integrated MSc through JEE Advanced 2023.
