In 2022, the UGC and the Ministry of Education to hold a centralized entrance test for UG admission to the central universities and many other universities (state, deemed, and private). A year from now, 47 central universities and more than 200 other universities will be taking part in the CUET 2023. The idea of CUET has changed the way UG admissions work in the country as a whole.

The full form of the CUET is Common University Entrance Test. What CUET does is cancel out the differences between how different boards give grades. Now, none of the applicants has to worry about meeting the high standards of top universities. From a student’s point of view, this is why CUET is so important.

Before talking about “why CUET is important,” it’s important to know what CUET is. The full name of CUET is Common University Entrance Test, and it will be the only way to get into all of the universities that take part in it. It is the same test that 47 central universities and more than 200 universities across the country use to let people in. The National Testing Agency will run the CUET in 2023. (NTA). Registration and application forms for CUET 2023 are now available, and the deadline to fill them out is March 30. The test is from May 21 to May 31 of 2023.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2023

For UG programs, a candidate’s age does not stop them from taking the CUET 2023. CUET can be taken by people who have finished 12th grade or its equivalent or who will do so in 2023. Candidates must, however, meet any age requirements of the universities to which they want to apply.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12th from a recognized school board.
  • Different courses and universities may have different CUET eligibility requirements, so candidates should check the universities’ official websites.
  • Candidates for CUET 2023 who failed one or two subjects in Class 12 will not be allowed to apply.
  • Even if a candidate passes the entrance exam, they are not guaranteed to be accepted into the program unless they meet the requirements of the university they are applying to.

Format for CUET Exam 2023

The CUET (UG) – 2023 will be broken up into four portions, each of which will last a maximum of 3 hours and 15 minutes. Candidates will have a choice of 13 languages for Section IA. There will be 20 languages available in Section IB in addition to those in Section IA.

40 out of 50 questions in each language must be answered. Applicants will be evaluated on their language proficiency using a reading comprehension MCQ test, with 45 minutes allotted for each language.

There are 27 Domain-Specific Topics available in Section II, and each candidate can select up to six of these, depending on the university or universities they are applying to. Candidates will have 45 minutes to complete 40 of the 50 questions in this segment, which will test their knowledge of the NCERT Class 12 syllabus in MCQ format.

In Part III, a generic test will be administered. In this portion, candidates have 60 minutes to complete 60 out of 75 questions, which will test their general knowledge, current affairs knowledge, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical and analytical reasoning, and MCQ skills.

Admit Card For CUET Exam 2023

The admit cards for the CUET UG 2023 exams will be sent out one or two weeks before the tests. To log in to the CUET website and download their CUET admit card, candidates must have their CUET application number and password ready. Before the tests start, the CUET exam city intimation slip will also be sent out.

Which Universities Accept CUET Exam 2023?

The CUET is the required entrance exam for universities created by a Parliamentary Act and governed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. To ensure that all states were represented, the Central Universities Act, enacted by Parliament in 2009, paved the door for the establishment of 16 additional Central Universities.

Presently, a nationwide admission exam called the Common University Entrance Exam is used by 44 Central Universities and 28 other Universities to admit students into their undergraduate, graduate, and integrated programs (CUET).

The admissions process for all Under-Graduate (UG) courses will be handled by CUET beginning with the Academic Session 2022–23, according to a decision taken by the administrative councils of Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
